Slate and quartz for a beach carved between capes
Castelo beach, in El Franco, is one of the inlets carved out of the series of headlands that form the profile of the council. Shell-shaped, it is made up of quartzite gravels, where the dominant materials are slate and quartz.
With strong waves, it is a narrow strip of 400 metres long with pedestrian and road access and a rest area with car park in the immediate vicinity. It is the largest beach in the council and has a lifeguard and rescue service during the summer season.
It is located in the town of Castello.

The circulation and stay of dogs and other animals on the beaches is forbidden outside the months indicated by El Franco Town Council (consult).
