A Natural Monument of great scenic beauty
The Natural Monument of Vega y Entrepeñas recognises the entire environment around this beach, the cliffs, the dune complex... It contains elements of great botanical value, such as the golden gnatcatcher, a plant that has only been found at this point on the Asturian coast.
The sandy area itself is one of the largest in the region and is split by the mouth of a small stream. As it is very open, it is often battered by strong waves. The westernmost end is frequented by nudists and the easternmost end has dinosaur footprints.
