Wind, waves and dunes in the beautiful surroundings of Xagó
The extensive sandy beach of Xagó (about two kilometres) is a beautiful beach of golden sand and aeolian dunes of high scientific value. Although it is very crowded, its extension makes it a quiet beach. It has a strong swell, which makes it very suitable for surfing and makes it advisable to swim with caution.
It is a very open beach and very exposed to north-easterly winds. For this reason it is used for paragliding, from the high cliffs of Cabo Negro, so called because of the dark slates that form it.

Ordinance for pets on the beach:
- The access and presence of any type of animal, including domestic animals, is prohibited on the beaches, waters and bathing areas, as well as on the promenades, with the exception of those that are necessary for the development of activities duly authorised by the competent health authority.
- In the case of abandoned animals wandering on the beach, their owners shall be responsible for them. The owner of an animal, without prejudice to the subsidiary responsibility of the owner, will be responsible for any damage and harm caused to people, facilities and means in general.
