This shelter contains an important group of Upper Palaeolithic engravings made up of zoomorphic figures (mainly bison, deer and goats), totalling some 30 figures distributed on the east and west walls. It also contains some aspado signs.
Santo Adriano belongs to a group of sites with parietal art known as "exterior sanctuaries" due to their location in the vestibules of the caves or in shelters where sunlight reaches them. They are chronologically attributed to the artistic stage known as "Horizon II" of the Middle Nalón, which corresponds to the Gravetian and early Solutrian periods. Although other authors advocate a greater antiquity for these manifestations, taking them to the beginning of the Upper Palaeolithic, in the Aurignacian period.
