Their extraordinary importance is due both to the scarcity of this type of sanctuary - most of them are indoors - and to the magnificent collection of engravings in the two hollows.
These caves were discovered in 1979. In the first cave, the main contents are engravings, most of which represent animals. Horses, aurochs, aurochs, deer and bison, among others, can be seen on its walls.
A few metres away is another small cave whose walls contain geometric figures made using the same technique as the previous one.
These caves could have acted as complementary external sanctuaries, resulting from the sum of the artistic contents of both, figurativism in the first and abstraction in the second, the iconographic model characteristic of the mature phases of Palaeolithic cave art.
