Description -

The Way of St James enters Asturias via the bridge over the River Deva and then leads to Bustio. Then head up the hill known as Cuesta'l Cantu and continue on, passing through the town of Colombres. Heading northwest, you come to Las Concharascas springs where you take the secondary road to Los Candanos to then link up with the N-634 until reaching La Franca and El Campu Bridge. After crossing the River Cabra the route comes to Santiuste, then runs along the N-634 once again for 150 m. until taking a local track to the "Casa del Pintor" (Painter's House). To the west past this house, the trail runs along the foothills of La Borbolla Range until joining up with the national highway leading to Buelna. In Pendueles, the route heads away from the road, passing through the neighbourhood of La Venta and Las Cocheras, where it once again joins the national highway to Vidiago. From Vidiago to Puertas, the route runs parallel to the N-634. It links up with the road to La Borbolla, where you turn right to once again follow the N-634 to La Venta'l Pumar. About 400 m. further on from there, the route follows the Original Way of St James to the right before returning to the N-634 after you pass a small chapel to then continue on to San Roque and El Cornellar. There it follows the Original Way, crossing the road to Andrín and heading uphill to La Jorcada Pass. The route then heads downhill to La Portiella and continues on to Llanes on the AS-263.
