Description -

From El Escamplero, the trail heads to Taraniello, continuing along the AS-234 until the Chapel of Santa Fátima in Valsera. From Valsera, an asphalted track leads to the junction with the road to Premoño. From there, it descends northwards to La Fuente and westward from there to Paladín. Once across the River Soto, the trail leads to Puerma. At El Fornu, take a track on the left that runs parallel to the River Nalón. Once past La Carril, cross La Xana Stream over a wooden walkway and continue on until you come to the AS-234, the bridge over the River Nalón in Peñaflor. The trail passes through the village of Peñaflor, with its Church of San Juan, and the riverside meadows. A track then leads you into Grado/Grau through the neighbourhood of San Pelayo, where there is an Ethnographic Museum and a railway station. The trail then continues through the old quarter, past the Valdecarzana Mansion (nowadays a cultural centre), Los Dolores Chapel and the town hall. From there it heads up to the Church of San Pedro, Travesía del Infierno Street and the neighbourhood of La Cruz, where you can see an excellent example of a stone cross. Leave Grado along a secondary road leading to the village of Acebéu to then reach Venta del Cuerno, where a milestone indicates the way to the pilgrim hostel located in the village of San Xuan, where the boilermakers' jargon ("el bron") was once spoken.
