The Museum, housed in the historic 14th century Tower of the Palace of the Valdés Salas family, displays a valuable collection of pre-Romanesque carvings from the church of San Martín (9th-10th century), located one kilometre from the town of Salas.
These pieces are an example of the decorative and artistic wealth of the Asturian workshops of the period.
PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS
The collection is made up of a set of pieces that are distributed over the three floors that make up the medieval tower:
- Ground Floor: Set of windows and lintels.
- First Floor: Tombstones with cross carvings and inscriptions.
- Second floor: Epigraphic tombstones.
