The new museum space allows you to dive to the seabed and discover the life and habitat of the largest cephalopods in the world, as well as that of their prey and predators, with which they live in an inhospitable environment in the depths of the Cantabrian Sea.
The Kraken's fascinating and little-known ecosystem will not leave you indifferent.
The collection of species can be visited 365 days a year.
Although cephalopods will continue to be the protagonists par excellence of the museum, other curious marine species recovered from the sea will also be on display in the new installation.
Visitors will discover up to ten specimens of these mythological beings, which will be accompanied by dozens of cephalopods and bone samples of different cetaceans that abound in these latitudes.
The museum route will be circular and designed for a mainly family-oriented public.
In this museum space a mysterious atmosphere will be recreated, and for this purpose only the strictly necessary light will be used, and an ambient sound reminiscent of the fluids of the water and the movements of giant squid, which awaken the passion for discovery, in clear homage to the Luarqués Nobel Prize winner, Severo Ochoa.
The aim is to recreate the depths of the Avilés trench through a sensory experience to discover the habitat, legends and characteristics of a mysterious species, as yet unknown. It will also have different interactive milestones.
A fascinating and little-known ecosystem, that of the Kraken, that will not leave you indifferent.
