The Chapel of Sorrows is the chapel of the Palace of Miranda Valdecarzana. It is an 18th century construction which, due to its dimensions, must be considered a church.
It has a single nave, with a slightly higher section and a sacristy at the back of the presbytery.
The entire construction is of ashlar masonry, with the nave protected by six buttresses. Numerous openings open up in the façades.
On the main front, there is a lintelled doorway with a semicircular arch supported by pilasters with capitals. A line of impost marks the height of the nave.
The belfry at the top of the façade is structured in two semicircular arched openings on pilasters. It is topped by a pediment with three pinnacles and balls.
On one of the sides is a magnificent Baroque doorway, slightly protruding from the body of the building, with a semicircular arch on columns, flanked by decorated pilasters. Above it, an entablature supports an open pediment with pinnacles that houses a niche with columns on both sides, crowned with a decorated frieze. Above the doorway, and displaced from the axis of symmetry, there is a lintelled opening.
The interior of the nave is covered with a barrel vault with lunettes and the highest section is covered with a dome on pendentives.
