If one had to think of a water paradise, that would be Illano, which holds the curious distinction of having the first waterfall on the Navia River Kilowatt Route , thanks to the Doiras waterfall and reservoir, built in the 1930s. Illano has a completely unspoilt landscape, without any environmental degradation, a landscape full of birches, oaks, cork oaks and hazelnut trees. Valleys, forests and rivers that have witnessed the emergence of the Castro culture.
Its capital, Eilao, is a peaceful village, with the typical black slate shining on its roofs and with unique views over the powerful flow of the river Navia, and in autumn and winter it is a spectacle from Eilao to observe Santesteba, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, with the first snow...
