The Alfilorios reservoir is located on the course of the river Barrea, in the municipality of Ribera de Arriba, although almost its entire surface area is in the municipality of Morcín.

The Alfilorios reservoirwas opened in 1990 and has a capacity of 9.14 hm³. It was built to supply drinking water to the populations of the central area of Asturias, especially to the city of Oviedo/Uviéu.
Its dam is 67 metres high. There is a recreational area in the northern part of the reservoir, and from the small viewpoint there is a view of the Monsacro (sacred mountain) where there are two medieval chapels.
