This lake is located at an altitude of 1,070 m between the Mosquital peak (1,268 m), the Enol mountain (1,274 m) and the Sobornín hill (1,183 m), in a mid-mountain environment that is very attractive for hiking.

From Cuadonga/Covadonga, it can be reached by a 10 km road that climbs 680 metres in altitude, with a gradient of around 7%.
