Viḷḷamayor- Vega Cueiro - Fuente de Porcabeza - La Corredoria - Dolia

Viḷḷamayor - Dolia 22,6

Throughout the stage, along a route that hardly climbs at all and that runs mostly along a contour line, the path crosses protected natural areas of great environmental value, such as the Las Ubiñas-La Mesa Natural Park and the area included in the Sites of Community Importance (SCI) Montovo-La Mesa and Caldoveiro, which in turn includes the Pico Caldoveiro Protected Landscape.

The route starts in the rural centre of Villamayor, ascending along a track, between meadows and small copses of leafy trees, to the Alto de El Cumalón, where, following the directional signs, we take a track on the left. The first few metres of this track are on a concrete surface, but we soon return to a gravel track.

The route continues on a level curve, between meadows, pastures and scrubland areas, leaving the Brañas de Santa Cristina to the right, in the direction of the Braña de Vicenturu, from where we can enjoy beautiful views of Peña Sobia, the Massif of Las Ubiñas, Peña Rueda and Peña Manteca. Later, the route crosses the Vega de Cueiro, at the end of which the route turns to the right, where it joins the GR 101 Roman road of the Camino Real de La Mesa and continues along the slopes of the Sierra de Conto, ascending moderately along a narrow, stony path. We pass to the left of the only enclosed farm with a stone wall in the area and continue around the Collado de Piedras Negras, as far as the Venta de Porcabeza, where we can stop for a rest, since, about 30 metres from the Venta, the Fuente de Porcabeza is signposted on the right-hand side of the path.

About three kilometres further on, after leaving the Llano del Mouro behind and to the right, is the Venta de La Corredoria, where there is an information panel with its history. The Venta de La Corredoria is presided over by a small chapel, which gives the place a special charm. Both inns, now abandoned, were used as stables for the livestock and as a refuge for the ranchers.

At the Venta de La Corredoria you are very close to the end of the stage. After approximately one and a half kilometres, the route continues along a narrow path through the foothills of the Sierra Matiecha, until it reaches the village of Dolia, the final destination of the route, where the information panel for the start and end of the stage is located.
