Bendición (Siero) - Carretera Pola-Carbayín - Lamuño - Cerezal - Cordal de Nava - Alto del Espinadal (Nava)

Blessing - Alto del Espinadal 16,4

It starts on the road from El Berron to La Gargantada, near the village of Bendición, where we finished the previous stage. Here we must follow the road to the right for approximately two hundred metres, until we find an asphalted track on the left with a sign to the village of Pando, always following this track which climbs slightly and leaving the crossroads we come across, we arrive next to a warehouse on the left of the road and in front of it there is a white shack with a wooden bench, Here we leave the asphalted track that leads to Corripos and take the path on the left that enters a meadow, until the first crossroads where we have to take the track on the right that skirts the shed and heads towards a wooded area in front of us, Before reaching it, we must turn off again, this time to the left to enter it. Shortly after taking this diversions, the path becomes a path, and we enter a world where silence and tranquillity are the kings of the path, together with the centenary chestnut trees.

Continuing along this path we reach a crossroads where there is a stone wall and a beautiful recently restored farmhouse with a beautiful granary next to it. Here the path takes a sharp turn to the right, leaving the house on the left (however, if we make a mistake there is no problem, as the path on the right leads near the Valdesoto FEVE halt, and when we reach it we continue leaving the track on the left until the first crossroads we come to, where we take the ascending path on the right that will take us back to the path we had lost). After a short distance we leave the path on the left, passing under the farmhouse, until we come to a small stream that we cross if it has little water (otherwise we must find a way to cross it through the meadow on the right) and begin the ascent along a narrow path with a lot of undergrowth, and soon we have a brick house in front of us with the GR markings painted on it.

After a short stretch, we reach a track that we follow to the right and upwards, which goes into a chestnut wood, until we reach a fork, where we follow the path to the left, which we may find closed with barbed wire fences in some places, until we reach a small esplanade, where there are two paths: one to the left in the opposite direction to the one we came from; and another to the right that goes upwards.

This is the path we should take until the next turning we come to, where we take the one to the left, which descends slightly and soon leaves the forest and leads us to a house known as the "Molín de Rufo", near the FEVE railway line and the road from Carbayín to La Pola Siero.

We cross under the FEVE track and come out onto the road. In front of us and crossing the road, a concrete path comes out which soon turns to earth and enters a wooded area with chestnut trees and the odd oak tree, and, ignoring all the diversions, takes us to the hamlet of L'Escobal, next to a house and opposite an electricity pylon, we continue along the tarmac track that goes off to the left, From here it goes through a thick forest where in a meadow there is an old mine shack, and descends next to a house with a huge concrete wall, we are in the village of Llamuñu .

Crossing the village in an easterly direction we reach the road to Pumarabule, which we take to the left until we reach a turning to the right just as the road changes grade. Following this turning uphill and avoiding the first turning on the right that leads to the water tank, we reach a crossroads where we take the path to the left, and then, at the next crossroads, turn onto the concrete path on the right that takes us to the village of Cerezales.

At the entrance to the village there is a turning to the left next to a house with a concrete block shack. Taking this path, which leaves the house on the right, we come across one of the many crossroads of this stage, where we take the left turn-off, as at the next crossroads, where the concrete disappears and becomes a dirt track. We are very close to La Llosona Peak, the highest point of this stage and from where we have excellent panoramic views of Peña Mea and the mountains of the Redes Natural Park, as well as the esplanade of Nava and Siero. Continuing along the path we reach some houses with a large oak tree in front of them. Crossing the village of La Cruz, we turn right onto the road we come across, and then turn left again and head towards Santuyano/San Julián, in Bimenes.

After a short distance there is a concrete track on the left, signposted Campabaxera, which we take and join the dirt track that runs along the Nava mountain range, but not before passing the two crossroads on the right. Once on the dirt track, it leaves a small group of houses on the left and runs alongside the watershed, from where we have splendid views of the whole central area of Asturias, as well as of Peña Mea. Continuing with the many ascents and descents that lead us to a crossroads, we must follow the track on the right, leaving the one on the left that leads to a eucalyptus grove.

Continuing along the top of the ridge until the next crossroads where we take the path on the right, and at the next crossroads we take the path on the left to head towards the high voltage power line that we have in front of us and which we cross, until we reach an area where there is a livestock farm with meadows and some sheds next to the path, and several trees where we can take shelter in the event of a very hot day. At the next crossroads, ignore the concrete path on the right and take the one on the left, which will soon lead us to the Alto del Espinadal, very close to the village of Nava and the end of this stage.
