Cuerres recreation area - El Infierno recreation area 5,5

This simple coastal route runs along the cliffs from the beautiful village of Cuerres to the vicinity of Ribadesella/Ribeseya, and begins in the Cuerres recreation area, very close to the beach of Guadamía, which is a natural border with the council of Llanes.

The route does not follow a path as such, but runs partly along paths and partly through meadows, but you should always keep an eye on the coastline, which marks the route.

It is essential, before starting the route, to stop to look at the local bufones, which we find in the first 300 metres of the route. 1,200 kilometres after starting the route, we can already see the majestic cliffs: Castro Arenas, Del Tomasón..., in the well-known area of Tuzarrizo.

When we have been walking for about 2 kilometres, there is a turning to the left: this is the road that leads to the village of Cuerres, but we continue straight on along the path.

At this point, kilometre 3.3, we have the islet of Palo Verde in front of us, and right next to it, the cliffs of the same name. After 150 metres there is a path that leads to the villages, but we continue along the path, always following the coastline.

About 5 kilometres from the start of the route, you will come to the famous cliffs of El Infierno. Half a kilometre further on, at the end of the route, the path comes to a fork in the road: the left branch goes backwards and the right branch towards the village of Ribadesella/Ribeseya.

Pets must always be kept on a leash.

Part of the route can be done by mountain bike, except from the Infiernu recreational area to Ribadesella (there are several closures due to the presence of livestock and cycling is not allowed).
