Les Bedules - Les Bedules 11,3

To do this route we must first go to San Xuan/San Juan de Beleño, which can be reached by the AS-261 road from Cangues d'Onís/Cangas de Onís. Just outside the village there is a turning to the left, which is the road to Viegu, the PO-2, which we follow.

A little further up, at the top of Cabañón, there is another turning to the right, which we take, leaving the road behind us. Once there, we are already at the Les Bedules viewpoint, where we leave the car and start the route.

From this viewpoint we start to walk along a track of about 17 kilometres, which is the one that goes into the forest, although at the beginning it is surrounded by pastures. This path is known as the Camín de los Arrieros and continues to Collado Granceno. The track is wide and easy to follow.

A kilometre and a half from the start of the route, we come across another path on the left, but we continue straight on. After another three kilometres, we reach Collado Granceno, at an altitude of 1,190 metres. Here, in addition to a fountain to refresh ourselves, we will find some beautiful views of the Peloño forest. We continue straight on and enter the forest.

We will have walked approximately 5.7 kilometres, and at this particular point we cannot pass by without turning off to the left, following the signs on the panels, to contemplate the famous Roblón de Bustiello.

Afterwards, we can either turn back along the same path we took initially, or continue walking along the track further on to approach the Guaranga pass, where a path begins that takes us closer to the Arcenorio valley.

Reaching kilometre 12.5, we continue along the track, and at this point we find ourselves at the Guaranga pass, the northern limit of the forest and a narrow pass where we can see old machine gun nests built during the Spanish Civil War. It is an ideal place to observe the Sen de los Mulos peak.

When we have walked about 16.7 kilometres, almost at the end of the route, we reach the Arcenorio valley, located below Peña Ten. The hermitage we find in the valley is worthy of admiration.
