Water and rock, this is one of its essences. Abrupt and steep, mountainous, this is the landscape of Amieva, crossed by mythical rivers such as the Dobra and the Sella, which make up a large part of its orography. With part of its territory in the Picos de Europa National Park, protected and rural, Amieva is an important climbing centre for those who wish to train for bigger challenges in the great massifs of the Park, and the narrowness of its gorges makes it an ideal territory for canyoning and also for rafting. It is clear that its speciality is mountain experiences, including routes such as the Camín de la Reina, the Jocica path, the Arcediano or the Beyu Pen, which combines nature and Asturian mythology and is one of the few to do so in Asturias.
Amieva treasures beauty and richness, such as the Angón Valley or the Beyos Gorge, which it shares with Ponga and which gives its name to one of the tastiest and most renowned cheeses in the Picos de Europa region.
