Also known as the Máxicu Path, La Senda de la Peridiella runs parallel to the river La Marea, among leafy riverside woods and small artistic interventions that turn the walk into a magical experience.
From the first stretch, the path enters a natural gallery of alders, ashes and willows, which filter the light and keep the atmosphere fresh and serene. The constant sound of water and the good condition of the surface - suitable for walking, running or cycling - make it an ideal route for families, even with small children or pushchairs.
But what really distinguishes this trail is its fantastic and playful dimension. Hidden among the vegetation or integrated into the tree trunks are tiny doors, the houses of the tooth fairy, xanas, gnomes, goblins and mysterious eyes that seem to watch from the bark. These interventions, the work of the artist Ángeles Cobián, have given the path an identity of its own that connects especially with childhood, turning each walk into an adventure among Asturian mythological beings and unexpected details.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this route promotes respectful contact with nature, observation of the environment and creativity. It is not unusual to see children looking for new characters hidden in the forest or adults rediscovering the route with an attentive eye.
The route, which is linear in nature, allows you to return along the same path, which multiplies the possibilities for observation and play. The combination of nature, art and accessibility makes the Senda de la Peridiella a perfect place to disconnect, explore with the family and demonstrate that sometimes the most magical things are not to be found on the highest peaks, but just a few steps away from everyday life.

Basic tips before going into the mountains
- If you go with a dog, always keep it on a leash.
- Avoid approaching livestock.
- If you find mastiffs protecting livestock, do not approach them, do not pet them and do not feed them. Do not allow them to follow you or stray from their herd. They are working.
- Don't leave a trail. Collect all your waste, including organic waste. Nature is not a dumping ground.
- Act with prudence. Plan your route well, take everything you need and make sure it is adapted to your physical capacity.
