It crosses rural landscapes until it reaches the lighthouse, located on imposing cliffs. An accessible and charming route with unforgettable panoramic views of the Bay of Biscay and the coast of Tazones.
The Llastres or Luces Lighthouse Route is a quiet and panoramic walk that combines the charm of rural landscapes with the immensity of the Cantabrian Sea. It starts from the San Roque viewpoint, one of the most spectacular on the Asturian coast. From this high point, you can see the fishing village of Llastres, with its terraced white houses, the beach of La Griega, and on clear days, even the Picos de Europa in the background. Sunrises and sunsets here are pure magic.
The path descends gently along the edge of the San Roque recreational area, between green meadows and small farms, alternating open stretches with other more leafy ones. It continues along rural paths until it reaches the village of Lluces, a traditional Asturian village with well-preserved traditional architecture.
From Lluces, the path is clearly signposted towards the lighthouse, leading away from the houses and into an increasingly open landscape, where the sea begins to dominate the view. After a short stretch through pastureland, you reach the Llastres (or Lluces) lighthouse, a white tower that rises above the cliffs in a setting of great scenic beauty. Its lantern flashes every 12 seconds, with a range of 23 nautical miles.
The lighthouse's setting is unique: cliffs stretching westwards, cows grazing with the sea in the background and views reaching as far as Punta de Tazones and its lighthouse. No wonder this place is so much photographed and televised: it looks like a natural painting in motion.
To return, you have to go back the same way.

Basic tips before going into the mountains
- Avoid approaching livestock.
- If you find mastiffs protecting livestock, do not approach them, do not pet them and do not feed them. Do not allow them to follow you or stray from their herd. They are working.
- If you go with a dog, always keep it on a leash.
- Don't leave a trail. Collect all your waste, including organic waste. Nature is not a dumping ground.
- Act with prudence. Plan your route well, take everything you need and make sure it is adapted to your physical capacity.
