The path runs through oak, chestnut and birch trees, across the Soulcoux stream and past the ruins of an old mill. The highlight is the Zaramato waterfall, where the water falls between moss-covered rocks. Ideal for enjoying the tranquillity of the Atlantic forest.
The Senda La Regueirina begins in front of the San Lorenzo hermitage, in the recreational area of El Faidal, a well-tended area that offers shade, benches and tables for resting. From here, take a wide track that runs between meadows and wooded areas, providing a leisurely introduction to the route. Soon, this track joins a forest path that begins a gentle descent, entering a landscape dominated by oak, chestnut and birch trees, typical of the Atlantic forest.
As you advance, the path narrows and winds through the vegetation, creating a cosy and humid atmosphere, where birdsong and the rustle of leaves accompany the walker. You soon reach the bed of the Soulcoux stream, one of the small streams that form the backbone of this territory. After crossing it, the path enters under an increasingly dense and shady canopy of vegetation, offering a cool and silent stretch that invites you to walk calmly.
Further on, you reach a small rest area next to the ruins of an old mill. This construction, partially invaded by vegetation, is testimony to the traditional use of water in the domestic and agricultural economy of the area. Here, the walker can stop for a few minutes and imagine the hustle and bustle that once enlivened this corner of the valley.
Following the path, you reach one of the most special spots on the route: the Zaramato waterfall. The water falls between moss-covered rock walls, creating a beautiful and cool environment. The combination of the murmur of the water, the shade of the forest and the humidity of the atmosphere makes this enclave a perfect place to rest or simply enjoy nature.
From the waterfall, the path begins a demanding ascent up the slope of Peña del Molino. As you gain height, the landscape opens up, allowing you to contemplate the treetops from above, as well as views of the surroundings of El Faidal. After this stretch, the slope becomes gentler and the path continues more comfortably, flanked by native vegetation. The last section allows you to enjoy a leisurely stroll before returning to the starting point, thus completing a circular route that combines heritage, landscape and nature.

Basic tips before going into the mountains
- Avoid approaching livestock.
- If you find mastiffs protecting livestock, do not approach them, do not pet them and do not feed them. Do not allow them to follow you or stray from their herd. They are working.
- If you go with a dog, always keep it on a leash.
- Don't leave a trail. Collect all your waste, including organic waste. Nature is not a dumping ground.
- Act with prudence. Plan your route well, take everything you need and make sure it is adapted to your physical capacity.
