Las Brañas, the name of the route, are places located in the mountains where the cowboys take their cattle to graze in summer, made up of small huts and corrals. The route begins in the town of Felechosa, right next to the hermitage of the Virgen de la Antigua. From this point we take the path that runs parallel to the Fresneo stream.
We begin to ascend gradually until we reach La Gamonal, where we begin to see that the valley narrows. The ascent continues through the areas of La Foz and El Mayaín, and we soon reach the pass and braña of La Felguera. The path continues in an easterly direction and passes through the braña of La Valencia, and then crosses the brañas of L'Otero, Las Ordaliegas and La Tabierna, the latter being the highest point on the route.
From here we begin a continuous descent, in which we will have to cross the Cuirgo stream once we have passed the crossroads of El Pinganón. We continue along the route crossing La Campona, the Cel.lero pass and, finally, the Los Cuadrazos mountain pass. In a short time the path ends at the bottom of the valley, in the village of Cuevas, where we will find the recreational area known as Las Moyás, the end of the route.
From here it is possible to reach the starting point by the path that leaves from the La Muñeca bridge and runs parallel to the AS-112 road.
ACCESS:
The route starts in Felechosa, which is reached by the AS-112 Uxo-Puerto de San Isidro road.
