Summary La Regueirina Trail

The reference point is the village of El Pedregal, located on AS 216 between La Espina and Tineo, where you a road off to the left in the middle of the village.

The route starts in the village of El Faedal. Here, beside a chapel, you take the paved track that goes off to the left heading towards some houses that you will see in the background.

Shortly after, you will see a semi-demolished building in front of a white house. The trail then leaves the paved track, taking the grassy path to the right running between stone walls. The trail winds gradually downhill until reaching a chestnut wood. Shortly after, you ford La Regueirina Stream over some stones and the trail begins to head gently uphill for a short distance. Shortly after you come to El Faedal Mill. In a small clearing, you will find a table next to the remains of the mill, where you can still see the water sluice that drove the mill and the funnel where the water fell onto the wheel to move the entire system.

Next to the ruins, there is a path to the left of the building which heads up through the chestnut wood to soon join up with another path. When you reach this second path, continue straight on uphill. You will soon come to a huge ditch.

The trail continues along a wide path past a meadow on the left and shortly after leaves the chestnut grove. You should then head towards the high voltage line you will see in the background to reach the highest point on the trail.

Once there, turn left, continuing along the track, which soon becomes wider and closed off due to the stone walls around the meadows. From here you will be able to see Manteca Crag in the distance, in the borough of Belmonte. Once you reach a crossroads, you will see the village of El Faedal to the left, with the trail heading back to the village.
