Historically, this route was used for the transport of gold extracted in El Corralín and later as a trade route for the cunqueiros, wood craftsmen who sold their products in Castile and Extremadura.

The Senda Moura runs through the valley of the Cunqueiros, an area of great natural beauty and historical importance located in the Natural Park of Fuentes del Narcea, Degaña and Ibias. The route starts in Bao, following the path towards the cemetery and the hermitage of San Antonio, linking up with the GR 203 towards Sisterna. Along the way, you can see examples of traditional architecture such as the church of Santa María, as well as the rural landscapes that characterise the area.

From Sisterna, the path continues towards Tablado, crossing a setting of lush forests. Before arriving, it is worth stopping at the church of San Luis or at the Tablado recreational area, ideal for a break. The route then climbs up to the top of El Campillo, where there is a viewpoint overlooking the Degaña valley, surrounded by mountains and forests. In this area, known as Tierra Cunqueira, wooden utensils were made which the inhabitants sold in Castile and Extremadura, even reaching Andalusia.

Further on, the path descends towards Rebollar, a small village surrounded by oak trees, known for its tradition of basket making. In this section, the path crosses the Tablado pass and the Cochadina pass, offering open panoramic views of the mountainous landscape. From El Rebol.lar, the route ascends towards the Trayecto pass, passing by the refuge of Los Cardos and the Braña spring, witnesses to the traditional use of these lands by shepherds.

The origin of the Senda Moura dates back to Roman times, when the path was used to transport gold mined in the region of El Corralín. Later, it became a commercial route used by the cunqueiros to sell their handmade products. The return journey follows the same route, allowing the walker to enjoy the rural and mountainous landscape once again.

This trail offers the opportunity to get to know Degaña from a cultural and scenic perspective, following old trade routes and discovering the traces of the craft activity that has marked the identity of the region.
