The walk begins in the Plaza de la Esquisa, in Xomezana Baxo, a central point in the village where there is a fountain, a washing place and a covered picnic area. From here, the path leads to the Ethnographic Museum "La Panerona", managed by the local community, a place where you can learn about traditional customs and popular Asturian architecture.

After the visit, the route descends towards the river bed, crossing the main road to take a signposted track towards the mills. This section, which runs parallel to the river, is easily accessible and suitable for everyone. Soon the first buildings appear, witnesses to the agricultural past of the area, where the inhabitants milled cereals and carried out complementary work. Along the route we find the María Luisa mill and the rabil de María Luisa, the Riestra mill, the Salomé mill - next to which stands a majestic giant chestnut tree and the "Corra castañes", a traditional stone construction where chestnuts were stored inside the hedgehogs for preservation -, the Corrá mill and its fountain, and the Pedreo mill. Some have been restored, while others remain in their original state, blending into a setting dominated by riverside woods with chestnut, oak and ash trees.

The sound of water and lush vegetation accompany the path, creating an atmosphere of great serenity. The path is accessible for the most part, although the ascent to Xomezana Riba has some stretches with slippery stones, so extreme caution is recommended. From this point, the path descends comfortably to Xomezana Baxo, crossing a rural landscape where the hermitage of Santiago is located.

This low-difficulty route allows you to discover the rich natural and cultural environment of Xomezana, highlighting its link with traditional activities and the sustainable use of natural resources. A perfect walk to immerse yourself in the history and rural life of Asturias through its milling architecture and beautiful landscapes.
