From the Faro de San Agustín lighthouse, the trail advances along cliffs and beaches such as A Figueira and Torbas, passing by viewpoints such as Cambaredo with its "Window open to the horizon". The route ends at the picturesque port of El Porto/Viavélez, highlighting the geological wealth and the impressive views of the Cantabrian Sea.
The route begins in the Cabo San Agustín Park, in Ortigueira, where two emblematic elements are located: the Chapel of San Agustín and the San Agustín Lighthouse, built in 1973 on the former site of the original lighthouse. From this high point, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the coast before descending towards the port of Ortigueira, a picturesque seaside enclave that conserves its traditional architecture and offers a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
From the port, the path continues towards the cliff of A Figueira, an outstanding place for its unique coastal geology. A stairway leads down to A Figueira Beach, a small sandy area surrounded by high rocky walls. After crossing the beach, the route continues towards Loza, where the hermitage is located, before reaching Torbas Beach, a natural spot where the roar of the sea mingles with the rugged landscape of the Asturian coast.
The route continues towards San Cristóbal, crossing the Salías Recreational Area, a perfect place to take a break along the way. From here, the path combines stretches of forest with open areas until it reaches the beaches of Castello and Cambaredo, two enclaves of great natural beauty. In the recreational area of Cambaredo is the viewpoint and the monolith "Window open to the horizon", a work by the sculptor Ernesto Knorr that frames the seascape in a spectacular way.
The path advances towards the coastal plain of A Senra, offering unobstructed views of the coastline and finally reaching Pormenande Beach, a sheltered corner famous for its rock formations and peaceful atmosphere. From here, the path enters an autochthonous forest of oak and chestnut trees, gaining height until it reaches La Atalaya viewpoint.
The final section of the route descends gently towards the port of El Porto/Viavélez, where the sea once again takes centre stage in this romantic fishing port.

Basic tips before going into the mountains
- Avoid approaching livestock.
- If you find mastiffs protecting livestock, do not approach them, do not pet them and do not feed them. Do not allow them to follow you or stray from their herd. They are working.
- If you go with a dog, always keep it on a leash.
- Don't leave a trail. Collect all your waste, including organic waste. Nature is not a dumping ground.
- Act with prudence. Plan your route well, take everything you need and make sure it is adapted to your physical capacity.
