Penarronda Beach, between Castropol and Tapia
Penarronda beach is very special and you will see for yourself when you visit it with your children. It is an impressive open space of great beauty, with a stream that divides it and a large rounded rock in the middle of the sandy area, which gives it its name.
It is located between two councils in western Asturias: Castropol, with Barres being the closest village to the beach, and Tapia, with Santa Gadía being the nearest town.
It has good facilities for a perfect day of leisure, and is accessible. In addition, botany lovers are in luck because, among its flora, the sea wallflower stands out, a species in danger of extinction that you will not find anywhere else in Asturias.

Serantes, in Tapia, is a large sandy area, located in idyllic surroundings, because it is in the vicinity of green meadows, corn fields, and the river Tol flows into it.
It also has a dune and marshland ecosystem, and in the immediate vicinity is the castle site of El Castelón. So its surroundings are very complete, both from a natural and cultural point of view.

Frexulfe, in the council of Navia, is one of those enormous beaches of great ecological value. Bordered by the coastal path - ideal for a stroll -, it has a wooded area and a dune system.
Located in a Natural Monument, on its shore you can see birds such as shaggy cormorants, and some rare botanical species.
It sometimes has strong waves, so it is advisable to be careful, especially with children. However, it is also true that a stream flows into the easternmost part of the beach, and bathing is permitted in this area.
It is an accessible beach, with all the services, which makes it very comfortable for families, and it is very close to the beautiful fishing village of Puerto de Vega, which is an added attraction.

Aguilar Beach in Muros de Nalón
Aguilar beach, in Muros de Nalón, is known for its beautiful rock formations. It also has a small promenade and is the starting or finishing point of the Ruta de los Miradores (Viewpoint Route), an incentive for a stroll at some point during the day.
