Part of the Villaviciosa Estuary Nature Reserve
Rodiles boasts a vast wooded area of pine and eucalyptus trees and a wooden promenade along the estuary’s banks, making it a unique stretch of sandy beach.
Measuring over a kilometre in length and 300 metres in width – though these dimensions vary considerably with the tides – it is one of the largest beaches and one of the busiest, popular too with enthusiasts of water sports such as surfing and fishing. It is a very open area with strong waves.
It is served by public transport, and there is a paid car park and campsites in the surrounding area.
Rescue service
- From 20 June to 20 September: every day
Accessible points
- Amphibious wheelchair and adapted crutches: 21 June to 21 September (contact the lifeguard service at the beach access point)

- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 1 June to 30 September.
- On seafront and urban promenades, in areas close to beach access points, pets are permitted provided they are kept on a fixed lead no longer than one metre and, where necessary due to the animal’s characteristics, must wear a muzzle.
