Tennis-Beach" Tournament

The Luanco Beach Tennis Tournament is a sporting and cultural event held in Lluanco/Luanco, capital of the council of Gozón. Its intense history dates back to the early 70s of the 20th century, and since then, although with some interruptions, it has been held on the beach of La Ribera, being the only exhibition tennis tournament that is organised on the sand of a beach during low tide.

On the beach there are bleachers with a capacity of over 2,000 people, and this, together with the natural conditions of the surroundings, means that the capacity can reach almost 3,000 spectators. The venue also has artificial lighting so that matches can be played at night.

The Tenis Playa Luanco tournament has great prestige in the field of tennis, both nationally and internationally, and this, together with its unique characteristics, positions the Villa de Lluanco/Luanco as a real mecca for the sport. The lively and playful atmosphere that surrounds the event is the perfect finishing touch to this Festival of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias.
