The reading of the proclamation is one of the moments that generates great anticipation, as it is usually delivered by a personality - whether local, regional, or national - associated with the world of gastronomy, politics, or media. And as a grand finale, this event is accompanied by a bagpipe band and a choir.
During the proclamation ceremony, the prize for the International Photography Competition "The Mine and the Sea" is also awarded, and visitors can enjoy an exhibition showcasing the most outstanding works from this competition. The exhibition later becomes itinerant, traveling to different locations in Asturias.
Furthermore, there is a tasting of fabada during the three days of the festival in the restaurants of La Felguera (Langreo).
And, of course, another festive attraction is the fabada contest.
Undoubtedly, apart from the lively gastronomic atmosphere in La Felguera, the uniqueness of this celebration is also rooted in the product: fabes are inherently Asturian and one of the main culinary symbols of Asturias.
With nearly 40 years of history, this festival takes place during the second weekend of December.
