The Hazelnut Festival is held every year on the first Sunday of October in the capital of the council of Piloña, L'Infiestu. This great tribute to one of the native fruits par excellence of Asturias finds in the lands of Piloña the best place to make itself known.
Piloña has a great natural tradition, linked to forests, handicrafts, wood, ecological food and agriculture, rural tourism, etc. For this reason, the Hazelnut Festival is a leisure and cultural event with a long tradition in this area, and has a programme of festive activities linked to the traditional market, exhibition of crafts and agri-food products, bird exhibition, wood crafts exhibition, bowling championships, etc. All of this is rounded off with the typical open-air dances.
It is a festival that highlights respect for traditions and the exaltation of the natural products of Asturias.
