On this day the people of Arenas roll out the red carpet and both the people of Arenas and elsewhere strive to get to know all the cheeses competing and to enjoy the Asturian fiesta atmosphere which begins early in the morning. The day is long and tasty with the participation of pipe bands and folkloric groups. During the week, several cultural and gastronomic acts linked to cheese and its and its environment, which include tasting, visits to museums and caves, exhibitions, presentations, a traditional market, ethnographic routes, bowling matches, a folklore festival, exhibition of village women's costumes, etc. In short, this is homage to the culture of cheese, and the social and natural environment in which it is made. In fact, it is much more than a gastronomic fiesta. Undoubtedly it is one of the obligatory venues of the Asturian summertime.
