A horseshoe-shaped bay with calm waters and fine white sand
Protected on both sides by two small islets, Barro Beach is a beautiful cove of whitish sand and crystal-clear waters. It stretches for around three hundred metres, sheltered from the wind and the open sea, which makes its waters ideal for swimming as they pose little danger. Perhaps this is why it is so popular.
Barro Beach possesses a serene beauty. It has be ly portrayed on numerous occasions for both the big and small screen, featuring in Gonzalo Suárez ’s *El Portero *, José Luis Garci’s *Historia de un Beso * and the television series *La Señora*.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- Pets are not permitted on the beach from 1 June to 30 September
- In the case of stray animals wandering on the beaches, their owners shall be held responsible for them.
- Anyone who breaches these prohibitions or fails to comply with the conditions set out above must leave the beach immediately with the animal, upon verbal request by law enforcement officers or lifeguards, who will draw up a report for the purposes of initiating the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
