A horseshoe of calm waters and fine white sand.
Protected on both sides by two islets, Barro beach is a beautiful shell of whitish sand and crystal-clear waters. It is some three hundred metres sheltered from the wind and the open sea, which makes its waters ideal for bathing due to their low danger. This may be the reason why it is so busy.
Barro beach is of serene beauty. It has been portrayed on numerous occasions for the big and small screen, appearing in Gonzalo Suárez's El Portero , José Luis Garci's Historia de un Beso and in the television series La Señora.

If you travel with your pet you should know that...
- The access and presence of pets on the beach is prohibited from 01/06 to 30/09.
- In the case of abandoned animals wandering on the beaches, their owners will be responsible for them.
- Those who violate the prohibitions, or do not comply with the conditions set out above, must immediately leave the beach with the animal, at the verbal request of the Authority Agents or Rescue personnel, who will issue a report in order to investigate the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
