A quiet beach with a rural setting and golden sands.

With very little waves, the beach of Bañugues is a quiet, well-frequented beach with good services. It is a very family-friendly sandy area, ideal for children, due to its almost perpetual green flag and the natural pools that form at low tide.

It is located in an inlet where there are interesting sites from the Palaeolithic period, . It is an ideal beach for bathing and sport fishing.

It forms part of the Cabo Peñas Protected Landscape.

  • It is forbidden the access and presence of any kind of domestic animals and pets on the beaches, waters and bathing areas of Gozón between 01/05 and 30/09 of each year, except on the beaches of La Ribera (bounded to the left of the central ramp) and Llumeres (in the area of the beach), which may be accessed with domestic animals and pets from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 20:00 to 24:00.
  • However, access to these beaches with pets and companion animals may be limited during these hours for reasons of public interest due to maintenance work and municipal activities carried out during the summer season. Likewise, outside the summer season, by means of a Municipal Bylaw, access to Bañugues beach with pets and companion animals may be limited during bird migration periods.
  • In the case of abandoned animals wandering on the beach, their owners will be responsible for them. The owner of an animal, without prejudice to the subsidiary responsibility of the owner, will be responsible for the damages caused to people, facilities and means in general.
  • Those who violate the prohibitions, or do not comply with the aforementioned conditions, must immediately leave the beach with the animal, at the verbal request of the Agents of the Authority, who will issue a report in order to investigate the appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
