A beach with a long tradition
Located at the mouth of the Cabra river, it is the coastal boundary between Llanes and Ribadedeva. La Franca is a triangular-shaped beach, with white sand, moderate waves and a semi-urban environment that has all the services. At low tide it connects with other coves such as El Oso, El Viveru and Regorgueru.
Access is easy, which favours its high occupancy, although it is not overcrowded. It has a long tourist tradition dating back to the 19th century, when it had a seaside resort.
In the centre of the sandy area is the islet of El Castrón, a common refuge for seagulls.

- The access and presence of pets on the beach is prohibited from 01/05 to 30/09.
- Pets are allowed on the seafront and urban promenades, in areas near the beach accesses, provided that they are kept on a fixed leash of no more than one metre in length and, when necessary due to the characteristics of the animal, they must be muzzled.
