Info
A leisure centre in the heart of a seaside town.
The beach of Santa Marina, the main urban beach of Ribadesella, is a sandy area of about one kilometre, delimited by a splendid promenade, with all the services that a beach can have. In the summer of 2004, along with 5 other beaches from all over Spain, it obtained the Q for Tourist Quality in the first call for beaches to be certified. Since then it has been maintaining and increasing the level of quality of facilities and services of the beach, managing to renew the Q certification annually, each year with better scores.
The beach tends to have a lot of waves, which is why surf lovers visit it. There are also several schools in the area that offer surfing lessons.
The beach opens out at the mouth of the Sella, is urban and has a high occupancy rate. At the western end, the remains of dinosaur footprints have been found , ichnites, and behind the promenade there are a multitude of modernist and Indian villas.
