This route can be divided into two distinct sections: the first covers the urban and peri-urban areas of towns such as La Felguera, Sama, Ciañu, L’Entregu/El Entrego, Sotrondio, Blimea and Los Barreros/Barredos, where the route largely follows cycle lanes and paths suitable for cycling, avoiding urban traffic as far as possible.

The route starts at the La Felguera Sports Centre, and leaves no room for doubt: the headframes, mine shafts and ancillary facilities reflect the basin’s mining and industrial past, which visitors can explore by visiting the Asturias Museum of Mining and Industry or the Sotón Mine.

Continuing along the route, in its second section from Los Barreros/Barredos and following the AS-382 local road, the industrial landscape is left behind as you enter a rural setting and reach the La Faya de los Llobos pass (650 m), from where the route descends to the council capital, Martimporra. The pass offers superb views of the valley and the Peña Mayor mountain range.

Continuing the route in Santuyano/San Julián, take the turn-off leading to the La Cruz pass, and from there descend through various villages such as Carbayín, El Cotoyu, Areñes, El Cuto, La Nava and Los Torgaos, all along various local roads, before returning to La Felguera to complete the route.
