The route starts in Samartín de Teverga, taking the AS-228 road towards the Ventana pass. The ascent is 20 km long, parallel to the valley of the river Páramo, which rises between limestone slopes; further on, the landscape begins to be covered in forest, crossing the famous Montegrande beech forest with a maximum gradient of 8%. We reach the Ventana pass (1587 m) and enter the province of León through the district of Babia.
From here we will find an extensive stretch with a very rolling route, accompanied by the Ubiñas massif. In San Emiliano, we take a detour to the right towards Las Majuas, and continue until we join the CL-626 towards Huergas de Babia. Later we reach Piedrafita de Babia to turn off to the right onto the LE-495 and begin the ascent to the Somiedo pass (1485 m), which is very short and gentle.
With 20 km of comfortable descent along the AS-227, we will pass through La Pola Somiedo and arrive at La Riera to take the AS-265 road and start the ascent to the San Lorenzo pass (1347 m), a great pass of almost 10 km with ramps of up to 15%, where the cyclist's physical condition is put to the test after a long journey.
Once the pass is crowned, there is only a long descent of 11 km to Samartín de Teverga.
The natural environment, the landscape, the ancestral human traces, and the good level of conservation, distinguish this route as one of the most authentic in the central area of Asturias.
