The first part of the route starts with the ascent to Les Praeres, selected as the new stage finish of the "Vuelta a España", which will leave us marvelling at the views of the Sierra de Peñamayor.

The climb has some special sections, as evidenced by its average gradient of almost 13%, with impressive views over the council and the surrounding mountains. The road has been recently asphalted for the most part, until it reaches a small plain and turns into a concrete track that will take us to the wide pass. Once at the top of the pass, the descent is along a wide gravel track until you reach a point where it narrows, the slope increases and the gravel becomes more uneven; pay attention. We descend to the bottom of the valley, and before reaching the river we turn sharply to the left to go halfway up the slope in the direction of Areñes and, from there, descend along the road to L'Infiestu.

From L'Infiestu, we follow the track that follows the Camino de Covadonga through Villamayor and Sebares, always on local roads and very quiet tracks, periodically meeting the river Piloña and alternating pastures and wooded areas until we meet the river Sella to reach Cangues d'Onís/Cangas de Onís, where we will be welcomed by the Roman bridge.

As an alternative, we have included the end of the route in Arriondas/Les Arriondes because it has a railway station and allows us to return to the starting point in Nava.

Optionally you can finish in Arriondas/Les Arriondes and use the railway to return to the starting point in Nava.
