This route links the cities of Oviedo/Uviéu and Avilés and connects two of the major stage routes, the coastal route and the inland route. The accesses to the two cities, both on the way in and out, avoid as far as possible the main roads with the most traffic and use local roads to create a pleasant and interesting route.

The route starts in the centre of Oviedo/Uviéu, specifically in the Plaza de La Catedral, and follows the streets and cycle lanes that lead directly to the slopes of Monte Naranco, gaining altitude and following roads and tracks frequented by walkers and cyclists, through an environment that at times becomes increasingly rural until reaching La Pedrera, where it continues along the local road and after crossing the river Nora, arrives at San Cucao.

Continue along the local road in a north-westerly direction, passing next to the Palacio de Villanueva, and you reach Carbayal and, shortly afterwards, Santa Cruz, in Llanera, where a little further on you take the turn-off to reach the village of Llavares. A little before the village, a short diversions brings the route closer to the Romanesque church of Santiago de Arlós, visible on the nearby hill and very interesting for the rich decoration of its façade, among other things.

The route continues with small ups and downs until it connects with the local road that descends until it reaches the vicinity of the Trasona reservoir, and from here, after a kilometre and a half of urban section with more intense traffic, you reach the cycle path that leads to the Trasona reservoir, the cycle path is reached, which runs alongside a tough industrial environment next to the estuary, but as the route progresses, the presence of trees and the ever-closer image of the Niemeyer Centre and the historic centre of Avilés increase the interest in reaching the end of the route in this more than interesting city.
