We leave Trubia on the AS-228 to La Riera, where we take the AS-313 road on the right towards Sama, in Grado. Before reaching Sama, we take the local AS-313 road on the right towards La Calea, and continue along it until Reconco, where at the crossroads we turn off to the left onto the GR-2 which will take us to Yernes.
Up to here the climb is very bearable, running along hills and valley bottoms between meadows until a few kilometres before Llauréu, where the road begins to climb steadily, winding for almost 3 km, and then, more gently and halfway up the slope, it takes us to Yernes.
In Yernes we begin the 4 km climb to the Collado de Fancuaya (1086 m), which is tough but short. From here we continue to Cuevallagar, a short 2 km stretch with beautiful views. This section is very dependent on the time of year and rainfall in the area, as it is a cross-country track, and after a period of rain it can turn into a muddy area that is not very practicable in some sections, forcing us to carry the bike.
We continue along the route, with a spectacular descent and views of legendary mountain passes such as the Cobertoria. The descent will take us to Banduxu, one of the most beautiful villages in Asturias. It is a small village declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, with perfectly preserved medieval architecture.
After crossing its coves, we continue our route to Proaza, where we cycle along the Senda del Oso (Bear's Path) until we reach the end of our route in Trubia.
It can also be accessed from Les Caldes and Oviedo/Uviéu.
Part of the return route runs along the Senda del Oso (Bear Path).
