This stage consists of several well-differentiated sections in terms of the road surface and the route's setting.
The first of these starts in Trubia, from where we will set off, always keeping the river Trubia on our right, depending on the direction of the route. For almost 5 km, it runs along local roads until the small village of San Andrés. From this point we continue along a gravel track in good condition for about 2.5 km which takes us to the start of the Senda del Oso itself, in the recreational area of Tuñón.
The Senda del Oso follows the route of the old mining railways that transported ore from Entragu in Teverga and Santa Marina in Quirós to Trubia. Its route runs parallel to the river Trubia, criss-crossed with tunnels and bridges, offering an overwhelmingly beautiful landscape and perfectly complements the surroundings of the Proaza valley.
On the route we will pass through towns of undeniable charm such as Villanueva, with its beautiful medieval bridge, or Proaza, with its emblematic tower (it is necessary to leave the path and rejoin it); we can visit the bear enclosures, approach the viewpoint of the Bear and cross gorges such as Peñas Juntas.
The route ends in the small village of Caranga Baxu, shortly after passing the junction between the two branches that make up the Senda del Oso, the one that goes in the direction of Teverga to the Prehistoric Park and the one that goes to Bárzana in Quirós.
This link can be made independently, but it should be borne in mind that there is no public transport for the return journey, so we should consider making the same return journey or contacting one of the active tourism companies that provide services in the area.
