From the chapel of Salgueiras, the trail runs through an authentic rural landscape before entering an impressive oak forest, dotted with birch and chestnut trees. A well-signposted and easy route, ideal for enjoying the natural and scenic wealth of the area.

The route begins next to the chapel of Salgueiras, a point of interest that welcomes walkers. From here, the route alternates sections of path and road, crossing a rural landscape where you can see traditional houses, outbuildings, vegetable gardens and meadows, a reflection of the way of life of the local inhabitants.

The path leads through a dense forest of oak trees, providing an immersive experience in nature. Shortly before reaching Xestoso, a small rural village with similar characteristics to Salgueiras, we find the church of San José, an interesting enclave that marks the beginning of a gentle descent towards a new stretch of forest.

In this part of the route, the path becomes more winding, alternating between oak, chestnut and birch trees, which enriches the diversity of the landscape. We soon reach the Xestoso stream, a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the relaxing sound of the water flowing between the stones. This riverside forest, made up of alders, ashes and willows, offers shade and freshness, making it a natural oasis on the route. A small wooden bridge allows you to cross the stream, offering a privileged view of the surroundings.

After crossing the bridge, the route begins a gentle ascent back to Salgueiras, passing by several farmhouses surrounded by estates, which reflect the essence of Asturian rural life. In this section, the traditional architecture, with its gabled roofs and stone walls, blends in perfectly with the natural landscape.

This circular route, well signposted and safe, is ideal for those looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. Finally, we return to the starting point in the chapel of Salgueiras, closing an experience that not only invites you to exercise, but also to discover the history and culture of the region. The Carbayal de Salgueiras Route thus becomes a perfect combination of nature, tradition and tranquillity, allowing walkers to immerse themselves in the essence of the Asturian landscape.
