A route that takes in the southern part of the municipality, visiting some of its most iconic landmarks.
The route sets off from Villayón, the capital of the municipality of the same name, heading south towards the Alto de Los Cándanos, and from there approaches the vaqueiro village of Busmente, where, a little further on, the route branches off, but not before following the road for about 150 metres past the junction to the Pímpano mill, a beautiful example of local water-related architecture, which also features a small waterfall and a cave nearby.
The route continues northwards towards the village of Oneta through open landscapes of great beauty; upon reaching the village, you can visit the Genaro Mill and the Oneta Waterfalls Natural Monument, the latter accessed via a gravel track approximately one kilometre long.
Continuing along the route, you descend towards the River Navia and reach the Arbón reservoir, a well-known spot for water sports and fishing, and from where you can access the Arbón floodplain, famous for its Asturian faba bean plantations. After walking for just over two kilometres alongside the reservoir, the ascent begins, leading gently back to the starting point in Villayón.
