The route begins with a short ascent to the junction with the local AS-35 road and then descends through meadows and woods until it reaches the tail end of the Arbón reservoir and, after crossing the river Navia, climbs steadily up to Ponticella.

The road skirts rocky crests facing north-northeast which give way to valleys with the same orientation where the small rural villages are located, and then descends to Puente Polea in Villayón, before climbing again to the Alto Los Cändanos and, from here, to the Alto de Brañúas in the Sierra de Burgazal, tracing a sort of rollercoaster. Along the way we pass by the mill of Pímpano, a beautiful example of traditional architecture that recalls the strong link with water, stone and wood of the whole area.

After the ascent to the small pass, the only thing left to do is to descend towards Navelgas, passing through such beautiful spots as Burgazal. Following the valley carved out by the river Navelgas, you reach your destination, the village of Navelgas, where the Gold Museum is located.

From Navelgas, the connection with Tinéu is via the AS-219 and AS-350 roads, a distance of almost twenty-seven kilometres, and the route is included in the Luarca/Ḷḷuarca-Tinéu junction.
