Located in the village of Navelgas (Tinéu), it is a unique museum devoted to gold and its history in Asturias

In addition to its historical and geological content, the museum offers an activity, available daily, which is essential for rounding off the visit, namely goldpanning, with a workshop in which the "uninitiated" can start practising this activity. Gold panning is a long-standing activity in this village, which has repeatedly hosted national and international championships.

What's more, Navelgas is the "capital" of the Valley of Gold, which means that immersion in this Asturian El Dorado may be supplemented by a route allowing you to see abundant gold mines, which employed a variety of mining processes, from goldpanning to subsidence mining, which gave shape to a unique landscape, still visible even after many centuries.
