The route starts in the square next to the Romanesque church of Santa Eulalia de Uxo, from where we follow the track to cross the river Caudal and go around the pet park to the start of the greenway.
The greenway starts at the Ricastro bridge, and runs for almost 3 km along the old mining railway trench of Hulleras del Turón, a company set up at the end of the 19th century and a subsidiary of Altos Hornos de Vizcaya.
The route continues along a well-signposted path, going around the installations of Minas de Figaredo, currently in disuse. We pass through La Cuadriella, with the old hospital, the church of Santa Bárbara, employees' dwellings and the Dörr tanks linked to the now defunct laundry.
We continue along the route next to the San Francisco neighbourhood, and ascend, overlooking the San José well through its old rubbish dump. We then take the road that runs over the water conduction and reach Pandiellu, San Benigno and San Pedro, to continue towards the old installations of the Sta. Bárbara Well (BIC). From this point onwards, the route is marked out by various machines that are the memory of the activity that once took place, and so we will advance next to the sinkhole of La Rebaldana, reaching the unique extraction tower of the Espinos well and, after passing Podrizos with its fountain, we will arrive at La Vera'l Camín or the small recreational area of La Puente Villandio, the place known as Fortuna.
The mass grave, with its panels and memorial, is a place of historical memory. The old carpentry shop and the powder magazine from 1966 are also preserved here. From the La Rebaldana sinkhole to Fortuna, the visit can be made by prior reservation on a guided tour.
The path continues to Urbiés, an area of great natural and ethnological interest, but our route ends at this point. We return the way back the way we came, taking the path next to the river from the recreational area, and continuing along it to Turón, where we take the Vía Verde back to the starting point.
