We begin the route next to the church of Santa María de La Oliva, a magnificent example of late Romanesque architecture, but not without having first walked through the streets of the beautiful historic centre of Villaviciosa, which is in a very good state of conservation.

We continue on to Amandi, where we visit the church of San Juan, of pre-Romanesque origin but which stylistically falls within the Romanesque phase of the Asturian Baroque with elements of Gothic character.

We then head towards Camoca where, after a short detour, we can see another example of late Romanesque architecture in the church of San Juan de Camoca. We continue through the beautiful valley of Boiges, which the Cistercian monks christened with the name of Valdediós, where the small but majestic church of San Salvador stands, a true jewel of Asturian Pre-Romanesque Art. A few metres away stands the Monastery of Santa María de Valdediós, founded in 1200 by King Alfonso IX of León and King Berenguela of Castile. There is no doubt that the monumental complex deserves a stop and a more detailed visit.

We change valley following the AS-380 road until it meets the AS-333, and continue towards Valdebárcena, passing practically next to the church of San Andrés, humble but of great ornamental beauty, to reach the cross of La Collada and begin a gentle descent through meadows to Nava.

Nava is a reference point for natural cider and is home to the Cider Museum, a great opportunity to get to know in detail one of the hallmarks par excellence of Asturias.
