We leave Tinéu on the AS-216 road, flattening out as far as La Espina. We follow the route through gentle hills, mountain meadows and small rural villages, until we reach the Alto de Cabazos, where we begin a descent of about 4 km to the junction with the AS-370, to continue the descent towards Salas. The town of Salas is the gateway to western Asturias, with one of the best-preserved historic centres, and numerous palatial houses and Indian architecture. Highlights include the Collegiate Church of Santa María La Mayor, the Casa Palacio de los Valdés Salas, and the Torre de La Villa, among others.

We leave Salas behind, taking the old national road N-634 towards Oviedo/Uviéu, descending gently until we reach Corniana/Cornellana, where we can make a stop and visit the Monastery of San Salvador (declared a B.I.C. National Monument).

We continue to face a new ascent, the Alto de La Cabruñana, and reach the village of Grau/Grado, located about 6 km from the top. The historic centre of Grau/Grado has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and is one of its main attractions. Grau/Grado conserves examples of architecture from the Middle Ages (walls) to the Indian and regionalist buildings of the 19th and 20th centuries.

We take the AS-313 road back to Sama, in Grado, where we can see curious and varied hórreos and paneras, traditional architecture, manor houses and palaces such as Vallinas and La Mouta and even an Indian school. The track takes us along a winding road showing us the beautiful views of the Trubia valley, from which we follow the course of the river Nalón to Les Caldes, to join the Vía Verde de Fuso which takes us to Oviedo/Uviéu.

Once in Oviedo, it is recommended not to miss the pre-Romanesque period, with its incomparable examples of San Miguel de Lillo and Santa María del Naranco, and to visit its monumental area, among many other points of interest.

Respect the direction of traffic on urban stretches.
