The route leaves Avilés heading west along the CT-1 regional road, close to the coast, passing through small rural villages and meadows in the direction of Salinas. We continue on to Arnao, where we can see the old mine with its characteristic derrick.
We continue on to join the SB-3 road towards Ranón. We follow this road until we reach the estuary of Muros de Nalón, where we can enjoy the scenery from Los Quebrantos Beach, and then return to the route to go around the entire estuary, passing by the marina. We return along the road that leads to San Esteban, in Pravia, passing the Espíritu Santo viewpoint, and from there to Muros de Nalón. From here, the route continues along local roads, passing several interesting points, such as the Aguilar viewpoint, or the Palacio de La Quinta, headquarters of the Selgas Fagalde Foundation, until we reach Cudillero, where, after enjoying the charm of this fishing village, we continue along the road that surrounds the fishing port.
We continue along the CU-3, and at the roundabout we take the road towards Las Dueñas, crossing a well-preserved landscape, with small rural villages (La Madalena, Artedo, Lamuño), until we reach the Salamir viewpoint, with beautiful views of San Pedro beach.
We continue on to Soto de Luiña, where we can stop to see the church of Santa María, a former pilgrims' hospital linked to the Pilgrims' Route to Santiago. We continue along the N-632a road to the Oviñana roundabout, where we have the option of turning off to the Cabo Vidio lighthouse. On reaching Cadavéu it is advisable to take a short detour (just 1.5 km one way) to reach the small Ermita de la Regalina hermitage, as the views of the cliffs from this point are worthwhile.
We continue our route to reach the height of Cabo Busto, where we can continue or take a detour to contemplate the views from the protected landscape of the cape (a detour of about 4 km one way).
The route ends in Luarca/Ḷḷuarca, a fishing village with a beautiful fishing port and all kinds of services.
Respect the direction of traffic on urban stretches.
Caution with the traffic towards the beaches in summer.
